Adv. Jebi Mather, Member of Parliament stated that although Kerala’s higher education sector maintains a high standard at the national level, modernization in tune with changing times is essential, and the newly introduced four-year undergraduate programmes should be strengthened accordingly. She was inaugurating the annual meeting of the Kerala Principals’ Council and a conference organized on the theme “Reimagining Higher Education.” Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Junaid Bushiri, VC, CUSAT, observed that the growing gap between the administration and teachers in the higher education sector is adversely affecting educational quality. He emphasized that students must acquire not only academic excellence but also employability skills. Speakers at the function included Prof. Gireesh Kumar G. S., President of the Council Prof. Manzur Ali P. P., Gen. Secretary of the Council, Dr. Anu Joseph, Treasurer of the Council and Dr. M. E. Kuryakose, President, Kerala Private College Management Association . At the conference being held at MES College Marampally (Autonomous), sessions were handled by writer K. P. Ramanunni, former Vice Chancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Dr. Dileep Kumar, researcher and former University of Kerala professor Prof. Achutsankar, Dr Sunil Yemman, Sanskrit University, and former NAAC Academic Consultant Dr. M. P. Rajan. The meeting also included a farewell ceremony and the honouring of retired principals.

A two-day training program for college principals under the auspices of the Kerala Principals’ Council has conducted at Thevara SH College on November 21-22, 2025. The program was inaugurated by Kerala Startup Mission Project Director Lt. Cdr. Sajith Kumar EV. More than 75 principals from Kerala, MG, Calicut and Kannur Universities participated. The meeting, chaired by the Principals Council President Professor Dr. Girish Kumar GS, was attended by Kerala Private College Management Association President Dr. M. E. Kuriakose, Dr. John Mathew and Rev. Dr. Joseph Varghese. Council Secretary Prof. (Dr) Manzur Ali PP welcomed the gathering and Dr. Anu Joseph proposed the vote of thanks. The two-day program will be led by experts in topics such as AI in Governance, Smart Office, Institutional Ranking, and Office Procedures.
